Animal Quarantine Station

Important Warning:

To protect public health and prevent the spread of diseases, it is illegal to bring live animals or animal products into, out of, or through Thailand without a permit.

Violators may face:

  • Up to 2 years in prison
  • A fine of up to 200,000 THB
  • Or both

Examples of Restricted Items:

  1. Live Animals: Cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, elephants, cows, etc.
  2. Animal Products: Meat, bones, milk, eggs, hides, feathers, animal-derived food products, etc.

What Should You Do?

If you are carrying any live animals or animal products, declare them at the Animal Quarantine Office located at Chiang Mai Airport:

  • Location: 1st Chiang Mai International Terminal

For detailed requirements and permit applications, contact the Department of Livestock Development, Thailand.

Note: These regulations are enforced under the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015). Failure to comply may result in legal consequences.
